They got that Jeep off the ridge.

Credit to all his fellow Jeepers for saving this guy’s ass.

Hopefully he gets a decent fine in reward for his stupidity.

if I know jeepers, and really anyone these days, they were more than happy to have a vehicle to recover. just fun and games

just glad to see everyone was at least 6ft from each other, wearing a mask, or from the same house hold

It’s windy; they’re fine.

Did we watch the same video? Definitely not seeing proper social distancing there. That said 1) not a priority at that moment and 2) chance of transmission with that wind would be very low. I am left wanting for major fines for not only the owner of the original Jeep but all others that went and did almost the same thing to go rescue it. Not even because this was (to my knowledge) that egregious but because this is the exact same culture that enabled the Joshua tree fuckery last year.

According to the wheel covers I see on Jeeps, this falls under the “No Problem” side of things.

So the solution to a Jeep where it shouldn’t be is... more Jeeps where they shouldn’t be?

Well, they were significantly less where they shouldn’t be, anyway.

As a mountain biker, hiker and conservationist, (on the assumption this was federal land), I’d like to hope the douchebag driver and everyone involved with this recovery was issued criminal trespass citations and a date with the nearest Federal Magistrate to have the book thrown at them and restitution for the labor to repair the trail . Maybe throw in some state or local public health order violations as they may apply, too.   This is probably wishful thinking.

I have a vision of the jeep suddenly rolling and a bunch of people not letting go

I would have let Ford rescue it with a helicopter
